COVID-19

COVID-19 Information

Students who exhibit symptoms from the COVID-19 Symptom List:

All students who have been identified as a close contact (within 6 feet or more for a total of 15 minutes or more to a KNOWN positive COIVID person and unmasked) or tested positive for COVID must remain at home for 5 days following the onset of symptoms. This applies to ALL students regardless of vaccination status.

The following are options for returning to school...

Option 1: Remain home for the first five days following symptoms and return to school on day 6 if the following criteria are met:
    1. fever free x24 hours without medicine
    2. symptoms improved (if applicable; vomiting and/or diarrhea MUST be resolved for 24 hours before returning)
    3. wear a mask on days 6-10 at all times except when eating or drinking (this includes gym, recess, any after school activities including sports); if the student(s) develops new or worsening symptom(s) on days 6-10 that could be potentially related to COVID, the student(s) will be required to leave school and complete the remainder of his or her quarantine at home.
Option 2: Remain home for the first five days following symptoms and return to school on day 11 if the following criteria are met:
    1. fever free x24 hours without medicine
    2. symptoms improved or resolved (vomiting and/or diarrhea MUST be resolved for 24 hours before returning)
    3. no mask required upon returning to school unless any respiratory symptoms are still present
**Students who do not show symptoms but have a positive test must remain home for 5 days following the positive test day and may then follow the return options listed above so long as the criteria for each is met.

**Students who are fully vaccinated and identified as a close contact will not be required to quarantine if asymptomatic.

Please choose the best option that meets your child(ren)'s needs. Please communicate the expectations with your child(ren) before they return to school.

Please note, COVID testing is NOT a school requirement. In addition, obtaining a negative test result is NOT required for students to return to school. Obtaining a negative result does not change a student's return to school date or exclude them from wearing a mask.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school nurse.
